President to stand by the decision of the political parties

Friday, 27 November 2009 10:09

Unified CPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal called on President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav at Shital Niwas, the office of the president, on Thursday to discuss a way out of the ongoing political deadlock.

During the meeting, President Yadav reportedly assured the Maoist supremo that he will accept whatever decision the main political parties take in order to end the current impasse.

President Yadav even offered his good offices in order to help political parties reach a consensus.

The meeting between the president and Maoist chairman, who was accompanied by deputy leader of the Maoist Parliamentary Party Narayan Kaji Shrestha, comes at a time when the issue of 'correcting' the president's move on the former Army chief row has become a hot political topic.

In response to Maoist chairman Dahal's request to help find a solution to the current deadlock, Dr. Yadav asked Dahal not to bring the office of the president into controversy, Shrestha told reporters after the meeting. nepalnews.com

"I don't know in which direction Prachhanda want to lead the country? Why he is making lot of drama against president and vice-president? It is all because both of them are madhesi and he can not see madhesi in top most position? if it is because of this, then he should have enough guts to say it openly instead of making lot of excuses and drama against them".
